CHENNAI: At least two individuals were dreaded dead, and 35 harmed when an Air India traveler plane slammed in the city of Calicut as it came in to land in substantial downpour on Friday, police said.

The Air India Express plane from Dubai had 191 travelers and group on board when it overshot the runway, the common flying service said in an announcement. There were 10 newborn children ready.

"We accept there are two individuals dead, and 35 harmed, we are still in the center of the salvage exertion," territory police director Abdul Karim said. The plane fuselage split into two as it overshot the runway and fell into a valley, TV stations said.
 

 

 "According to the underlying reports salvage tasks are on and travelers are being taken to emergency clinic for clinical consideration," the common flight service said in the announcement. There was no fire ready, it said.
